Local governments feeling the strain as stimulus grants loom

The federal government set out to do something about the disparity in communications offerings throughout the country. In an attempt to equalize the broadband offerings throughout all communities, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was created.

While the ARRA has billions of stimulus dollars at its disposal to offer, local governments are finding themselves short-handed when it comes to actually claiming some of that money. Andy Opsahl recently examined this problem in a Government Technology
