Broadband stimulus grants soon

White House and USDA officials have told NACo that guidance for Broadband Technology Opportunity Program grants, funded through the Recovery Act, will be available June 22.

The BTOP program, administered by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration and the Rural Utilities Service, has $7.2 billion to deploy broadband to unserved and underserved areas of the country.
