AKRON — The city of Akron has learned it will be among cities nationwide receiving funds from the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the so-called $7 billion “Broadband Stimulus” fund.

The Akron Urban League (AUL) will receive $2 million as part of an application submitted by the city of Akron’s partner in building out a wireless broadband network in Akron, OneCommunity.
